The Avengers Comics
The Avengers published in September of 1963 by Marvel Comics. The creators of this classic comic is Jack Kirby, now deceased, and Stan "The Man" Lee. The original Avengers were Ant-Man (Dr. Hank Pym), (Janet Van Dyne) as The Wasp, Iron Man, Hulk, and Thor, this is Avengers 1.
Avengers Comics #4
In Avengers number 4, the team finds the original Captain America trap in ice, and after he is revived he then joins the team.
Avengers Comics Publication Dates:
- (Vol 1) September 1963 thru September 1996
- (Vol 2) November 1996 thru November 1997
- (Vol 3) February 1998 thru August 2004
I will stop here at 2004 vol 3 issues because we love the back issue Avengers comics, besides Marvel starts making other universes and mixing characters in and out. Vol 1 has 402 issues, plus 23 annuals and 5 specials. Vol 2 only has 13 issues no annuals and no specials. Vol 3 has 88 issues, plus 4 annuals, and 2 specials. Vol 4 has only 5 issues, no annuals, and no specials. In issue number 2 "The Hulk" leaves, and The Ant Man becomes Giant Man (Hank Pym) an he also becomes Goliath in up coming issues.
